“As many as 100,000 Internet phone customers who haven’t formally acknowledged possible obstacles to making 911 calls could find their service disconnected starting next week. On Tuesday, the federal Communications Commission plans to begin enforcing its requirement that Net phone services that connect to the public telephone network-known as “interconnected” services-receive acknowledgment from 100 percent of their customers about 911 limitations.”

“Vonage Holdings Corp., which provides residential phone services over the Internet, is planning an initial public offering to raise as much as $600 million, the Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday. Citing a person familiar with the matter, the newspaper said Vonage had already raised more than $400 million in venture a capital from firms that include Bain Capital, 3i Group Plc and Institutional Venture Partners.”
