E-mail spammers to be blacklisted, SCMP.com, 26 Apr 2005

“Senders of spam e-mail would be blacklisted under a government proposal that may be introduced in three months. In the meantime, spammers would be blacklisted - meaning their e-mails could not be received by clients of Hong Kong internet service providers.�

“the government was also pushing for the creation of an anti-spam law to contain the growing threat from all types of unsolicited electronic mail…spam had increased from an average 800 million junk messages a week to more than 1.2 billion messages a week by December last year. The government's legislative action formed part of a basket of measures planned to combat all unsolicited messages proliferating on the internet, mobile phone networks and fax systems.�

Hushmail hit by DNS attack, theregister.com, 25 Apr 2005

“Surfers trying to visit the web site of popular secure email service Hushmail were redirected to a false site early Sunday following a hacking attack…hackers changed Hushmail's DNS records after "compromising the security" of its domain registrar. These changes were undone after a few hours on Sunday and normal Hushmail services have now been restored.�
