AOL Accused Of Blocking Critics' Emails
A coalition fighting AOL's upcoming pay-to-send email service claimed Thursday that the company was blocking delivery of emails that included a link to the group's Web site. The DearAOL.com Coalition, which is circulating online petitions to gather signatures for an open letter to AOL, said emails with the link www.DearAOL.com were bounced back to the sender with a message saying, "failed permanently."

Hacked computers download spam tool
Computers infected with a well-known virus began downloading a new spam tool Sunday night used by hackers to send unwanted e-mail. Virus writers part of the infamous Bagle spam gang began sending a new spamming tool Sunday night to thousands of hacked computers, said Mikko Hypponen, chief research officer for F-Secure, a security company based in Helsinki.

Fort Wayne Gets Wi-Fi 'Hot Zone'
The Indiana Data Center, an ISP serving some 25 communities in and around Fort Wayne Ind., has deployed a large Wi-Fi "hot zone" in Fort Wayne. The wireless distribution system was developed by Colubris Networks. The system utilizes dual-radio access points, which have been deployed on water towers, hospital rooftops, and fire stations.
